Thanks for signing up for our annual Mexico Tours!

The dates, as you know, are;

Jan. 9-16

Jan 16-21

Jan.30- Feb. 6

It is best to plan on arriving mid afternoon on your arrival date and to plan on departing anytime on your departure date. We generally have one vehicle departing( Mexico City ) at about 5:00 p.m. and one departing at about 7:00 p.m. On your departure dates, we generally have one vehicle which leaves the hotel at 5:00 am to accommodate 7:30am flights and one that leaves at 9:00 am to accommodate the rest. We generally rent some combination of full size vans and suburbans.

We meet you outside customs at the international arrival gate of the Mexico City Airport (check these pics) . We plan to use 151.505 for contact in the airport if we don’t see you immediately. Likewise we will have our cell phones; 801671 8357 Jeff and 801 706 6076 Chris. We will also, likely have a Mexico cell phone # which we will provide to you. Please, either call, or e-mail us if you experience a schedule change that affects your arrival time. We are able to check e-mail from within the airport.

On the first day of your trip, we will travel to Valle de Bravo where we will check in to the Meson Del Viento. Our $1850, one week, rate is based on double occupancy. You will be paired with a roommate to be determined. If you would like a single room, they are available with advanced notice and at a slightly increased rate.

We spend the first four nights in Valle de Bravo, flying two sites; El Penon and La Torre. A typical day is as follows:

7:15 am  breakfast

9:00 briefing on launch at El Penon

9:30 - 12:00 launching El Penon (early for novice and later for more experienced)

12:00-3:00 cross country flying, retrieve and lunch at the Cocina Economica Jovan

3:00 - Sunset Flying at either El Penon or La Torre(overlooking the town of Valle de Bravo and the lake)

7:30 group dinner

            On Friday morning(typically) we pack all our things into the vehicles and go flying at El Penon. After the flight, we have lunch and then travel(2hrs. ) to Malinalco where we enjoy an evening flight before checking into the our hotel. Saturday morning is a casual one with flying beginning mid-day and continuing all afternoon. Sunday, we travel to Mexico City (1.5 hrs.)

            There are several interesting side trips available depending on the groups overall interest level. These include; a visit to the Monarch Butterflies, the Nevado de Toluca Volcano, the market, a variety of ruins etc. We hire experienced, local, English speaking driver/ guides to add to the experience.

            Most of our clients travel with a paraglider bag, another bag and a small backpack. Temperatures vary from chilly (sweatshirt/ jacket weather) to hot(shorts and t-shirt). Bring a warm flight suit and warm gloves along with sandals and shorts. We provide bottled water, snack food  and cold/refreshing après flight beverage throughout the trip. A camel back type water container can be a nice thing. Don’t forget; a variometer, gps, radio(w/ ptt and earpiece), and a harness(w/ back protection, reserve and speed bar). Other nice things to have include; a hat, sun block, sunglasses and a whistle. We travel with first aid kits and tree rescue equipment. Still, we recommend that you have your own as well. Please contact us if you need help with any of your equipment. We generally bring demo gliders for people to try, but please let us know if you have a specific request.

            Please call with or send your credit card information to hold your spot. Also, you can send a check to the address listed below. We need payment in full as soon as possible as these trips tend to fill quickly. Also, please send us your complete itinerary along with your emergency contact information and any pertinent medical or other considerations specific to you as soon as possible.

            Generally speaking, all of our customers are exceedingly satisfied at the end of our trips. Admittedly, we do our very best to provide the best possible experience. Still, when traveling with groups, having a certain amount of flexibility is important. Also, we encourage all of our clients to call on us if they have any needs, concerns or special considerations. We rely on this sort of feedback in order to meet with our customer’s expectations. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
