WHAT?
Comprehensive over the water safety training exercises.
WHERE?
That depends. We like Lake Havasu City, AZ; Seattle, WA; Palisades, WY; Strawberry Reservoir, UT and Prineville, OR. Wherever we meet, we do it at about 7:30 AM and we are on 151.925 so that we can contact us. Also, my cell phone is 801 556 4107.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Depends on the location, we can help, in any case.
DETAILS
You will need a tow bridle. We use the type that split into two pieces. They are $50.00.
BTW, learning to connect the bridle to the tow line is the hardest part of the pursuit
consider looking at
or printing it out to prepare for the course.
Fly a Matrix, Bolero, Flight Design, Pro Design, Nova, Apco?
We use a special device to make your glider tow better($25). Let me know if you need one.
Need a hook knife?
Let me know, I'll bring one for you($25).
Need a radio?
Same deal.
Need a speaker in your helmet?
People that don't have one tend to lose out on a lot of valuable coaching. We can get you one if you need it.
BRING
Bring a cooler, a chair, lots of water, a hat, an umbrella, some gloves, a reserve, a helmet and some sunscreen. Also, get a life jacket and try it on under your harness. Thinner life jackets are better. "Jerk to inflate" life jackets are not allowed. "Water Activated" ones are great. See if you can sit in a simulator with the life jacket(and helmet) on and consider taking a flight with the lifejacket on just to see what it is like.

These Rip Curl Life Jackets are the coolest...
On $
We should have your contribution (for the syllabus and the ground school)in full as soon as possible. If you haven't already done so, please send payment in full(cc#) at once, or risk loosing your position(there's usually a wait list).
IF
If the weather is somehow adverse and we are unable to achieve four high boat tows(min.) then you will invited to come towing on subsequent weekends .
If you have never towed, then please drop me a quick e-mail and let me know. This program is designed for people that have never towed. We just like to know how many will need to do stationary winch tows before towing behind the boat.
If you have never used your radio, then please get to know it. Make sure that you know how to change the freq. turn up the volume and disable the auto power off.
I will send you a syllabus for your review, please do so in a "in one ear and out the other" fashion. If you think that you would like to have a copy of it at the course, then please print it out.
It might be good to read over this Towing and Maneuvers Check List so that each of the items are familiar to you when it matters.
