Baba Dag's translates as 'Father Mountain' - and is arguably the most spectacular paragliding experience to be found in Turkey. The mountain lies above Oludeniz - one of Turkey's most famous natural wonders. The area is enclosed by wooded mountains which plunge down to the turquoise clear waters of the beach and spectacular lagoon. Testimony to the breathtaking beauty of the area, Oludeniz is the most photographed resort in the whole of Turkey - take one look at the picture postcard lagoon and you'll appreciate why! The whole area has been designated a national park as an area of outstanding beauty thus being protected from wide-scale development
Its a 45 minute winding grind up to the 3 take-off sites at 1,700, 1,800 and 1,900 metres facing SW, E and NE/SE respectively. The views are nothing short of spectacular - the turquoise waters of the beach and lagoon glisten below while ahead lie the Aegean sea and its islands. In the afternoon until quite late you can take fairly easy thermals to well over 3,000 metres and explore the surrounding hills and valleys. Aventura additionally offers the only private take-off site in Oludeniz. This site is situated at 800 metres and may be used in the case of adverse weather conditions at higher altitudes.
The smooth straight glide towards the beach landing zone gives an average of 1,200 metres above the calm sea giving enough height to make an excellent place for practicing SIV (Simulated Emergency Training) or if you wish you may experiment after take off in the many wide, gentle thermals which produce a +2 to +5 m/s lift.
