After about 8 hours of binge drinking and pot smoking with my buddies at work I had decided that I would make a cross country paragliding trip from my backyard in Miami to San Francisco. I knew I would have to make the gas tank on my powered paraglider much larger. It uses quite a bit more fual than most engines because I replaced it with a 550cc engine off of my old Yamaha GX7-500 street bike. Although it would still require many refuelings I figured a larger tank would cut down significantly on my stops. With that in mind, I fastened a 5 gallon paint bucket above the engine with some bungee cord and had my wife fill it to the top after I had the motor on my back and the engine running. After I began to run, the gas noticeably began to slosh around in the bucket. I finally got off the ground and was about 40 feet in the air when the lid came flying off. It wasn't soon after that that the bucket came loose and poured into the prop and sprayed gas everywhere. Within no time at all the exhaust lit the spraying gas and sent fire everywhere catching both my sail and several trees below me in my neighborhood ablaze. Somehow I made it down and am still alive to make another go at it. I had several days in jail to think about it and I realized that my plan was a good one, I just needed to get more bungee cords. Any suggestions? JLS
